Seeking to go beyond personal research, Joseph Chen partnered with Castiel Wong to form the art initiative, Virtue Village.

活體洞 (in Chinese: A Hole of Living Body) is a spatial experiment for artistic practices curated by Virtue Village and The Originals, by situating object and performance-based arts in the context of Sham Shui Po flea market. It took place in a cargo truck, which is often utilised by hawkers in the flea market for selling second hand commodities, and parked in the market. The cargo truck was transformed into a playground for the living bodies of arts, the artists sneaked in the playground to exhibit and perform while the crowds in the market peeked through the "holes" of the truck to view the artworks and and performance.
